Quite often people will go out and buy a small welder, bring it home and realise that they
can't weld. Or that it was a lot harder to do than what they thought.
Yes manual metal arc welding can be hard for a beginner to use. I find that some of the biggest problems newbies
face are:
1. Not using a good quality rod.
2. Having the power setting too low.
3. Traveling too fast.
In my opinion these are very common issues that I have either read, heard about of seen in person that
prevent people from making a good weld bead.
Common problems are slag inclusions, insufficent penetration and difficulties getting the electrode going.

Step 1: Arc welding safety
You gotta make sure you cover up when your stick welding. UV rays are given off and they will burn
you like when you are out in the sun. Make sure you wear thick clothing as well.

It's the key to any welding sucess. This must always be done as you need to be working on a clean
materials so the welding will run smoothly.
