Using auto darkening welding helmets make life so much easier when you are laying down the welds

Auto Darkening Welding Helmets

Automatic Welding Helmet, auto darkening welding helmet

Here is another fancy type of welding helmet you can get. They come in all styles these days. Flames, spiders, racing teams etc.

It is a "flaming skull welding helmet". Is is also an automatic helmet, too.

Auto darkening welding helmets are the best things since sliced bread.

*** No longer do you have to keep flipping that darn lense up and down. ***

The older style helmets can be a real "pain in bottom" becasue of this constant flipping of the lense up and down.

If that is all you have to use then it will be fine. But if you really want to start getting your welds looking better you really should go and buy a decent auto helmet.

Once you use one you will never go back.

Why? Cause every time I go to start the weld, I flip the lense down and I lose my starting position. Those of you who have one of these non automatic helmets will know what I mean.

If you are out in the daylight sun, it isn't too bad as you can see the work to some extent.

The difference between a flip down helmet and an auto darkening welding helmet are like night and day. Easier, faster and quicker to use.

At the top you can see the solar panel. This will activate the auto lense when you strike an arc. Automatically!

"No need to flip the lense down."

On the side there is an adjustable shade setting, from shade 8 to shade 13. So I can weld at a varing range of power levels.

The old "Ned Kelly's" as we call them here in Australia, you would have to change out the lenses to suit each job. And on the inside there are adjustable settings. Mine is just a basic one, so it will not have as many setting as other auto helmets will.

On mine I can adjust my "sensitivity" from low to high, and my "delay time" from slow to fast.
