How To Mig WeldMaybe you want to make some DIY welding projects around the house. Maybe you need to fix up some equipment on the farm. Or maybe you just want to get a career as a boilermaker, fabricator or welder. Mig welding is the most widely used welding method to join bits of metal together. From high end industrial welding robots running 24hrs a day right down to someone at home in the shed with a small gasless mig welder. Mig welding is here to stay. To mig weld you will need a mig welder, some mig welding wire and depending on what type of welding wire you will be using you may need to use a shielding gas as well. If using a solid mig welding wire such as an ER70S-6 wire, usually you will use a mixed gas of 75% carbon dioxide and 25% argon. Or if you are using a gasless fluxed cored self shielding, the wire will come with a flux inside the core of the wire which when burnt in the welding are will produce the protective gases needed to make a sound weld.
