Binzel Mig Gun
MB24 How to change the welding consumables
Here is an online guide for how to change out the consumable parts on a Abicor Binzel mig
gun.The particular model I am showing you here is called a "MB24KD".
There are three different hand piece designs in this range:
There are,
- New Blue
- Ergo Handle
- Grip Torch
This hand piece design is the older style and is called the "New Blue" handle.
They are all the same torch but have different designed more ergonomic handle.
This is the Binzel Mig Gun: MB24KD " New Blue" hand piece model
Step 1: Disconnect gun from mig welder

These instructions involve removing the liner from the cable, so first things first is to disconnect the welding
torch from the weling machine.
Step 2: Taking off the nozzle

The nozzle is a push on type nozzle and all you have to do to remove it, is pull it off with you
hands.

They just slide right off!
Step 3: Remove the contact tip

These contact tips are screwed in with a thread. You will need to use some pliers a spanner or shifter to "crack"
it open.

Once it has been cracked open you can twist it off with your fingers.

Here is the removed contact tip.
Step 4: Now we take off the tip holder

The tip holder comes off next. It will also need to be cracked open.

It unscrews easily by hand.
Step 5: Insulator / diffuser removal

There is a white ceramic insulator to take off as well. It will pretty much fall out. Also known as a diffuser, as
the holes in the side of it "diffuse" the welding gas evenly around the welding arc.
Step 6:

This photo shows the most commonly replace welding consumables in the Binzel MB24KD mig welding gun.
From left to right they are the, tip holder, insulator or diffuser, nozzle or shroud and contact tip or
tube.
Step 7: Welding torch liner removal

Now to get the liner out go to the other end of the torch, and remove that large nut.

Under the nut is the end of the liner. It's that black thing in the photo.

Lay the gun out straight and pull out the liner.
Step 8: How to put the liner back in and assemble the torch

To put it all back together again it's just a matter of working through the steps backwards, except for the
liner.
Put the contact tip holder in the other end of the torch first before you install the
liner.
See how the liner is touching the one side of the neck in the torch.
Well it is very hard to screw on the tip holder over this. As you try to screw on the tip holder it will not engage
and slide over onto the liner.
It's much easier to pull out the line a couple inches, screw on the tip holder then push the liner back
in.

Once the tip holder is in you can then assemble in the reverse order.
Go to the contact
tips page.
