Tecmen Welding Helmet
Here are some photos of what a tecmen welding helmet looks like. This is an
auto darken helmet.
They can be bough from hardware stores and are a cheap welding helmet.

They are a very basic welding helmet and do not have any adjustable settings that you can play
with. This means you can not adjust the darkness of the shade like you can on other
helmets.
Threre is also no adjustmet for for "sensitivity" or "delay time" with this particular model.

Where to buy from:
This particular helmet was bought from Bunnings, which is an Australian based hardware chain of retail
outlets. They are actually warehouse sized outlets.
Price:
I think that this one was bought on special for $69, which isn't too bad for a basic auto welding
helmet.

Pros and cons:
Cheap to buy. Works good and does the job for arc welding and mig welding.
Good choice for the home welder and handyman who needs to do the occasional weekend welding jobs.
But as it has no adjustable fillter lense darkness, sensitivity or delay time it may not be
such a good choice for anyone who is doing heavy welding or anyone who is TIG
welding with it.
Having said that some people have reported that it works fine for tig welding using low amps
or even higher amps welding with mig or stick.
Also people have reported that the headstrap breaks. And it breaks right at the area where it
connects to the left and right plastic nuts on thie inside of the helmet.
Here is a link to a photo of what happens to them: Tecmen welding helmet broken headstrap
Interestingly enough the medalist welding helmet also suffers from this problem with the headstrap as
well.
