Trafilux Welding Helmet
The trafilux welding helmet has received good positive reports from people who use them. Professional
full time welders and fabricators have said that these are a very good auto darkening welding helmet.
The particular model that is show in the photographs below is a.
Trafilux La300

This helmet has an adjustable shade setting of welding filter shades 9 through to 13, which will cover a
wide range of amperages for both mig welding and arc welding. I have had no reports of people using this helmet
for the tig welding process, so do not know how well it would operate during tig welding.

There are no extra adjustable settings like "delay" or "sensitivity".
One of the best featues of this helmet is that the shell or plastic molded body is soft and flexable
compared to most other welding helmets.
This means that this helmet will withstand the abuse and misfortune that happens in welding and fabrication
shops.
One such example of this rough handling of someones welding gear was when a welder's trafilux helmet fell onto a
trailer that they were loading with a few sheets of sheetmetal. When the guy relised what had happened
he thought, oh no, it busted.
But luckily it survived being squashed. They reason I survied was because the platic is very forgiving and
flexable and can handle the abuse. Any other hard plasic helmet in that situation would have surely cracked,
split or snapped.

There is another brand of auto darkening welding helmet that is very similar to this one. As a matter
of a fact I think the story is that one company bough out the other company and as a result the two helmets are
very similar. That other helmet is the Xelux welding helmet.
