Xelux Welding Helmet

The xelux welding helmet is a good welding helmet according to the welding trades people who use them day in and day out.

These welding helmets feature an automatic darkening filter lens that can be adjusted from shade 9 to shade 13.  This makes it fit in the range for most welding applications. 

These are a good helmet for mig welding and arc welding.  I am not sure how they perform when tig welding as no one has reported to me what they are like.

The best part about this helmet is that it is made from a much softer and pliable plastic.  The actual mold of the welding helmet shell can be flexed really easy. 

This feature makes it great when you drop it or have things dropped on it.  As it is much softer it is more forgiving to these little accidents that we have as welders in our workshops.

This welding does not have and knobs or switches for changing any settings like sensitivity or delay. 

There is another welding helmet that is also a solar auto darkening helmet but it is marked with the brand Trafilux.  You can see how very similar the two helmets are at this page trafilux welding helmet.  The story is that one company bought the other company and now they manufacture the new branded style of helmet.

Overall this seems to be a good welding helmet which I can say has come from a full time owner of a welding and fabrication shop.  He has tried other brands and say's these are really good.
